Remi

Remi is a 16-year-old black roan quarter horse mare with a gentle disposition and a mischievous streak. She greets everyone with a nuzzle and loves treats—peppermints, carrots, and German muffin horse cookies are her favorites. She’ll stand patiently for a scratch behind the ear or a hug, but there’s plenty of spirit underneath her calm exterior.

Remi’s story began with a young eventer named Margaux, with whom she formed an instant bond. Together they competed in cross-country, jumping, and dressage, their partnership built on trust and confidence. When X-rays revealed a kissing spine condition, surgery and a full recovery made Remi comfortable again. As Margaux grew older and moved on, she passed Remi to another young rider, where Remi continued competing and forming new connections.

When it was time to slow down, Margaux reacquired Remi to ensure she had the retirement she deserved. At HorseLink, Remi enjoys a life of leisure in a pasture where she reigns as the sole mare among a group of adoring geldings—and she knows it. She takes full advantage of her status, keeping the boys in line while soaking up their attention. Along with her pasture companions, she continues to serve a purpose, teaching others the value of trust and rewarding them with her gentle affection.
