Apollo

Apollo is an eighteen-year-old home-bred Thoroughbred who spent his entire life in Midland, Texas, with one devoted owner before arriving at HorseLink. Though the transition from his lifelong home was initially overwhelming for this sensitive horse, Apollo’s remarkable character quickly shone through as he adapted seamlessly to the HorseLink way of life.

Originally trained as a polo pony—a discipline in which he excelled—Apollo’s caring owner ultimately decided that the demanding polo lifestyle wasn’t the right path for him. He successfully transitioned to Hunter/Jumper competition, where he continued his athletic career for several years.

What truly sets Apollo apart is his extraordinary presence and natural leadership. Curious, outgoing, and genuinely fond of both people and horses, he thrives on social connection and dislikes solitude. His impact was immediate and unmistakable: within an hour of his arrival, a palpable calm settled over the entire herd and ranch. Apollo doesn’t just join a group—he transforms it, bringing his gentle authority and peaceful energy wherever he goes.
