Help us build our capacity to serve in three key areas: People, Programs, and Partners. We are poised for significant growth and your donations can help us achieve it.

We are happy to share more about a new, excellent opportunity to enhance our organizational infrastructure in preparation for strategic growth. Recently, the HorseLink Team met with one of our neighboring nonprofits, Spirit Reins, to explore how we could collaborate in fulfilling our common missions. This new friendship has since become such an incredible opportunity to take HorseLink’s work to the next level!

For the past 19 years in Liberty Hill, Texas, Spirit Reins has provided life-changing equine therapy for children, youth, and adults who have experienced complex trauma. Following challenges brought on by the pandemic and the exploration of merger options, the Spirit Reins Board of Directors, along with Founder and Executive Director, Rhonda Smith, decided to dissolve the agency’s nonprofit status and divide its assets between two organizations.

“While HorseLink is new to me, learning about their equine therapy work over the past several months gives me hope for a healthier community. When considering the beneficiaries of Spirit Reins, I thought, ‘Here is a growing organization that deeply recognizes the value of horses as therapy partners and has a heart for changing lives!’ I believe HorseLink will undoubtedly carry on Spirit Reins’ legacy of healing in Central Texas.”
– Rhonda Smith

HorseLink acknowledges the tremendous impact that Spirit Reins has had on thousands of therapy clients and the Central Texas nonprofit community, and we are honored that Spirit Reins has chosen HorseLink as a beneficiary of the hard work that built their pioneering organization. HorseLink appreciates the consideration and confidence in our work, and we are excited to leverage the offered assets to grow our agency’s visibility, availability, and legacy.

HorseLink has a proven track record of making a genuine difference in the lives of the people we serve, and we believe the agency is well positioned for growth. To facilitate stable, effective growth, we must strengthen our organizational foundation while producing the best possible outcomes for our clients.

Recognizing capacity as our greatest need, HorseLink—with the technical assistance and support of Spirit Reins—is launching the #HerdLove Capacity Campaign that will focus on three key organizational pillars: people, programs, and partners.

The vision of HorseLink is a world that appreciates and benefits from the horse-human relationship. Your gift will be a testimony to this vision, and your generosity will empower HorseLink to serve more individuals, care for our equine partners, strengthen our organizational foundation, and expand our impact in Central Texas. Together, we will transform the lives of the clients we serve and our community.

“HorseLink was born after a massive fire and loss, so it is fitting that on the heels of another recent fire scare and the loss of two of our cherished horses we are blessed with this opportunity to both expand our service to the community and carry on part of the legacy of Spirit Reins. We hope you will join us in our commitment to increase our capacity to serve both people and horses in need of a soft place to land.”  – Julie Puentes, Founder and Executive Director

The #HerdLove Capacity Campaign is officially open and we are grateful for donations of all sizes!
