Big Head Todd

We are devastated to announce that Big Head Todd passed away on March 12.  This is a huge loss for HorseLink and we are struggling to find the appropriate way to honor his life. HorseLink would not exist without him and we are forever indebted to his generous soul and his wise teachings all the way through to the end. He was just shy of his 26th birthday.

Todd belongs to Julie Puentes, founder of HorseLink. Born on her farm, she raised and trained him from the time he first stood. Together, they competed successfully for many years on the Central Texas Hunter & Jumper circuit. Standing 17 hands tall, Todd’s large size is matched by his large personality. He is curious, friendly, a prankster and commands attention wherever he goes. Todd had to retire in 2011 due to an ongoing hind-leg ligament injury that prevents him from jumping or competing again. He often goes by the nickname, Mr. T. It was Todd’s retirement that inspired Julie to find an alternative, positive, solution for horse owners and horses facing the dilemma of retirement and start HorseLink.
